Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of Lankaran State University- Guliyev Vagif
Lankaran State University Trade Union has 1202 members, including 284 teachers and technicians and 918 students.
The University has a Student Trade Union Committee.

According to the agreement signed between Lankaran State University and Trade Union Committee, the obligations of the parties are as follows:
1. To ensure the development of priority areas for improving the quality of education and expanding the activities of educational institutions in order to implement reforms in the education system of the Republic of Azerbaijan and to further strengthen the social economic situation;
2. To cooperate in the implementation of state programs, protection of labor, social and economic rights of educators, students, improvement of the normative-legal base of educational institutions and conducting negotiations on the social issues;
3. To ensure compiling of internal disciplinary rules in educational institutions in order to regulate labor relations between the employer and employees;
4. To work regularly for the purpose of implementing the State Program on Azerbaijani youth in 2015-2025, ensuring the youth employment, improving the system of benefits that encourage them to work in rural areas, developing working conditions and living standards, strengthening the social protection of students and young workers;
5. To provide the unpaid leave of educators due to health, marital status and other reasons determined by the legislation on the basis of the opinion of the relevant trade union committee;
6. To ensure the payment of benefits to an employee who has lost all or part of his\her ability to work according to the legislation;
7. To control over the observance of labor protection legislation, technical safety rules, improvement of labor protection and working conditions by employers and employees;
8. To hold joint events in cultural and sports activities to support the youth policy;
9. To identify talented young people;
10. To celebrate the anniversaries of leading pedagogical workers;
11. To ensure the organization of national and state holidays, cultural and mass events among staff and students;
12. To make leisure time of staff and students more interesting and effective;
13. To provide financial assistance to low-income employees and students who are members of the union;
14. To supervise the conduct of annual mandatory prophylactic medical examinations of staff and the creation of normal conditions for the operation of student polyclinics;
15. To award the members of Trade Union who excel in public affairs and education;
16. During the academic year, to assist the employee when he/she needs treatment, including sending him/her to sanatorium-resort treatment, provided that the educational process is not disrupted.
According to the annual work and action plan, the Trade Union Committee of Lankaran State University actively participates in the public life of the University.
