Lankaran State University Welcomes International Students with Special Orientation Day

Lankaran State University (LSU) kicked off its annual International Student Orientation Day today, offering a warm welcome to students from across the globe. The event, designed to help international students settle into their new academic and cultural environment, was attended by more than 60 new students who will be pursuing various undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the university.
The orientation began with a heartfelt welcome speech from a moderator and other lecturers of LSU, who emphasized the importance of diversity and global exchange in creating a vibrant campus community. “We are thrilled to have students from so many different countries joining our academic family,” it is said. “This event marks the beginning of your journey here at LSU, and we are committed to supporting you every step of the way.”
During the day’s activities, students were introduced to LSU’s campus, facilities, and resources, including the library, student support services, and sports complexes. A dedicated team of student volunteers guided newcomers on campus tours, providing information on everything from local transport options to where to find the best coffee spots in town.
In addition to the academic and practical aspects of orientation, students were given insights into Azerbaijani culture and customs. Workshops and cultural presentations highlighted the rich traditions of the region, helping international students connect with their new home and foster a sense of belonging.
Several international students shared their excitement about the opportunity to study in Lankaran. “This has been an amazing experience so far. The warm welcome from both the faculty and fellow students makes me feel confident and excited about the year ahead,” said Iqbal, a student from Pakistan.
The day also featured a social mixer, where international students had the chance to meet one another, share their experiences, and form new friendships. Local student organizations presented opportunities for international students to engage in extracurricular activities and get involved in the LSU community.
As part of the orientation, LSU also provided essential information regarding visa requirements, housing, and health services, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of studying abroad.
The International Student Orientation Day was a resounding success, setting the tone for what promises to be an enriching academic year for LSU’s newest international students.
