Information about the "Biology and Ecology" department

The "Biology and Ecology" department was established in 2020 on the basis of the "Biology and Medical Knowledge" department. The department plays an important role in the training of pedagogical personnel and environmental experts in the field of ecology for the general education schools of the republic. 1 teaching laboratory - Biology teaching laboratory operates under the department and 1 doctor of biological sciences, professor, 5 doctors of philosophy in biology, associate professor, head teacher, 2 head teachers, 6 teachers, 1 laboratory manager and 1 laboratory assistant work. In the direction of biology and ecology, scientific-research works are carried out on the topic "Biological monitoring of environmental pollution in the southern region".

Head of the department- PhD in Biology, Assoc.Prof Huseynov Mammadhuseyn Babali

Mammadhuseyn Babali oglu Huseynov was born on December 3, 1962 in Osnagakuce village of Lerik district. In 1979, he graduated from secondary school No. 1 in Liman city, Lankaran region. In 1984, he was admitted to the biology faculty of Baku State University and graduated with honors in 1989. In 1989, he entered the post-graduate studies of the Institute of Genetics and Selection of ANAS, and on February 3, 1993, he defended his dissertation on the topic "Antimutagenic activity of extracts from feijoa fruits" in the defense council of the Institute of Genetics and Selection (now the Institute of Genetic Resources) and became a candidate of biological sciences received his degree. He started his first teaching activity at the higher school in 1992 as a teacher at Lankaran State University, after working as a teacher, head teacher, associate professor in the department (November 13, 2002), he was appointed as the head of the "Chemistry and Biology" department on March 15, 1999. On June 10, 1999, he worked as the head of the "Chemistry and Biology" department. In 2011, he was elected the head of the "Chemistry and Biology" department for the second term. Since 02.06.2019, M.Huseynov is a PhD student at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University, at the Department of "Genetics and Evolutionary Education", majoring in 2409.01-Genetics. He is working on his doctoral dissertation on "Research of genetic diversity of varieties and forms belonging to the families Theaseae, Myrtaseae and Ebenaseae and their use in breeding". He is an expert in the field of modern genetics. 2 textbooks intended for undergraduate students of higher education - "General cytology" (2005), "Citology" (2019), 2 textbooks - "Citology" (1999), "Embryology" (2010), 4 methodological aids, 10 programs , 1 authorship certificate, author of more than 70 scientific articles and theses. He was born on 09.05.1968 in Arab village, Masalli district. In 1993, he graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University with an honors diploma. In 2004, he defended his candidate's thesis at the Institute of Genetics and Breeding of ANAS (now the Institute of Genetic Resources) and received the scientific degree of candidate of biological sciences. Since 2010, he has been an associate professor in "Genetics". From 2010 to 2016, he was the vice-rector for scientific affairs of LSU. From 2013 to 2016, he worked as the deputy head of the "Economic Informatics and Ecology" department of LSU. Since September 9, 2016, he has served as the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of LSU, and since February 9, 2017, he has been the dean of the Faculty of Medicine. He is the author of 71 scientific works. Author of 1 monograph, 1 textbook, 8 programs. Currently, he is continuing his studies at the Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS on the topic of "Evaluation of ecological sustainability of a number of medicinal plants growing in the Lankaran-Astara region" program.

Assoc. Gorkhmaz Kazim oglu Agayev

Doctor of philosophy in biology, head teacher Gorkhmaz Kazim oglu Agayev was born on February 11, 1976 in Guneshli village of Lerik region. In 1993, he graduated from T.Zamanov Marso (now Urge) village high school of Lankaran region with excellent grades and was admitted to the first course of Lankaran State University, majoring in "Geographic ecology and environmental protection". In 1997, he graduated with a bachelor's degree as a geographer-ecologist and was admitted to the master's degree in "Using nature and nature protection" and in 1999 he graduated with a scholarship and honors diploma named after our great leader Heydar Aliyev. From September of the 1999-2000 academic year, he started working permanently at Lankaran State University. After working as an inspector for 3 years, he continued to work as a teacher in the "Geography and Ecology" department from the 2002-2003 academic year. From 2009, he was appointed as the head of the Education Department and worked in this position until September 2012. In November 2010, he defended his thesis on "The modern microbiological and ecological situation of rivers located in the Lankaran natural region" at the Defense Council of the Institute of Microbiology of ANAS and received a PhD in biology. At the end of the 2011-2012 academic year, 1.0 stat was transferred to the position of senior lecturer in the "Economic Informatics and Ecology" department. From October 1, 2012, he was appointed to the position of full-time deputy vice-rector for educational affairs with a 0.5 full-time replacement from the position of head teacher and worked in this position until April 15, 2013. In the 2015-2016 academic year, he continued his pedagogical and scientific activities in the Department of Economic Informatics and Ecology, in the 2019-2020 academic year, in the Departments of Geography and Ecology. Currently, he works as a full-time senior teacher in the Departments of Biology and Ecology. Until now, more than 30 scientific articles and theses have been published in the scientific news of different institutes of ANAS, higher schools of the republic, journals of international universities and conferences (Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia), and have been awarded various local and international (Ukraine) certificates. He was born on April 15, 1988 in the city of Lankaran. In 2006, he entered the Biology major of Lankaran State University. In 2012, he graduated from Lankaran State University with honors in Ecology (in the field of Biology). From 2011 to 2016, he worked as a laboratory technician at Lankaran Medical College, and from 2016 to 2019, he worked as a teacher at the college. Teacher Narmin Sadikhzadeh

He was born in Lankaran in 1988. In 2005, he graduated from Lankaran secondary school No. 4, and in 2010, he graduated from Odlar Yurdu University's Faculty of Medicine, and obtained the qualification of doctor-therapist. He works as a doctor-therapist in the Polo clinic department of Lankaran Central District Hospital. In 2016, he teaches the subject "Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge" at the "Primary Education and Preschool Education" department of Lankaran State University, and since 2018 at the "Biology and Ecology" department. Teacher Gunay Mammadova

He was born on December 29, 1991 in Gakh district. He graduated from Gakh city high school No. 2. During the years 2009-2013, he studied at the Zagatala branch of the Azerbaijan State Teachers' Institute, specializing in History and Geography teaching. In 2014, he was admitted to the Master's degree in Physical Geography of Lankaran State University of Azerbaijan, and in 2016 he graduated with honors. Participation in the training for the volunteer group of young people with higher education on "Basics of Ecological Agriculture" in the city of Gakh from August 5, 2016 to September 28, 2016 of the Regional Experience and Resource Center for Ecological Clean Agriculture of the Botany Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has obtained a certificate. Teacher Gulmaya Akbarova

Akbarova Gulmaya Sahib was born in 1961 in the city of Sumgait. In 1978, he graduated from Sumgayit city chemistry-oriented secondary school number 13. In the same year, he entered the Azerbaijan Medical Institute. In 1984, he graduated from the faculty of pediatrics of that institute and was assigned to Sumgayit city hospital. For some time, he worked as a doctor in the Lankaran orphanage, as a doctor in the Kargelan medical center, and later as a doctor in the Lower Nuvadi medical center. Since 1997, he has worked as an hourly accountant at Lankaran Medical College, and since 2000, he has worked as a full-time teacher. Since 2018, he has been working as a 0.5-time teacher at Lankaran State University.

Head of the Laboratory. Hasanov Nadir

He was born in 1959 in the city of Baku. He graduated from the chemistry faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute and worked at the EA Institute of Zoology by appointment. As a laboratory assistant, he participated in scientific expeditions in the Caspian Sea for 4 years on the "Elm" scientific research ship. In 1985, he was transferred to the Herpetology laboratory as a scientific worker. In 1985-1988, he was a doctoral student at the Institute of Zoology of the EA of the USSR in Leningrad. In 1989-1991, he conducted scientific work at the Zira Herpetological Combine. In January 1992, he was transferred to the position of herpetologist and later chief herpetologist at that plant. In 1994, when the Zira Herpetological Combine was closed, he continued his work as the head of the Zoological Department at the Baku Zoo. In 2014-2020, he created a herpetology laboratory under contract at "Azad" University in Ardabil, Islamic Republic of Iran, and continued scientific research there. A medicinal ointment obtained from viper venom was patented with Dr. Asgar Fathi as a co-author. In 1986 in Ashgabat, in 1989 in Kiev, he participated in the All-Union Herpetological conferences. In January 1991, he participated in the last All-Union Congress of Herpetologists in Pushshino, Moscow Region, and in September of the same year in Ashgabat, in the All-Union Zootoxinology Congress. He is the co-author of a new discovery, several scientific articles and a scientific-popular book ("The role of beekeeping products in folk medicine"). Currently, he works as the director of the Biology laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine at Lankaran State University. He is married and has two daughters.

Assoc. Ramiz Alakbarov

He was born on 10.05.1957 in the village of Nahajir, Julfa region (now Babek). In 1972, he graduated with honors from the 8th grade of Nahajir village incomplete secondary school. In the same year, Abbas was admitted to Baku Medical School No. 8 named after Sahhat without an exam. In 1975, he graduated from medical school with honors. In the years 1975-1979, he worked as a manager in Nahajir village paramedic station of Babek district. He entered the Azerbaijan State University in 1979 and graduated from it in 1985 with good and excellent grades. In 1985-2002, he worked as a chemistry and biology teacher in Nahajir village secondary school. In 2003-2021, he was engaged in scientific activity at the Institute of Bioresources, Nakhchivan Department of ANAS. In 2004, he became a dissertation student of NSU, wrote a dissertation on "Research of mosses in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" and defended it on February 29, 2008. In 2013, he received the scientific title of docent. In 2012-2017, he was a doctoral student of the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS on the basis of the doctoral preparation program, "Lamiaceae Lindl. spread in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Head teacher Vahid Guvendiyev

He was born on April 21, 1983, in the village of Shishgaya, Vardenis district of the Republic of Armenia, in an Azerbaijani family. In 1999, he graduated from Dag Ceyir village secondary school of Shamkir region with a red certificate. In 2000-2004, he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University with a bachelor's degree in Ecology, and in 2004-2006, he graduated from the same university with a master's degree with honors. In 2006-2007, he completed active military service in the "n" military unit of the Internal Troops. In 2010, he was hired as a junior researcher at the Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS, and since 2015, he has been working as a researcher at that institute. In 2011-2014, he studied within the PhD program at the Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS. In 2022, he defended his dissertation on the topic "Bioecological characteristics and efficient use of Medicago species of the flora of Azerbaijan" in the specialty "2426.01-Ecology". Guvendiyev Vahid participated in many local and foreign trainings, courses, conferences and seminars and received certificates. In 2014-2015, Vahid Guvendiyev was the winner of the Erasmus-Muundus scholarship program, and within the framework of the program, he conducted research at the "Ecosystem and Plant Ecology" department of Göttingen University in Germany. Guvendiyev Vahid participated in a number of international and local projects and successfully completed his participation in the projects. Since 2023, 0.5 full-time senior lecturers have been working at the "Biology and Ecology" department of Lankaran State University. He is the author of more than 20 scientific articles and theses.
