Student Scientific Society

The Student Scientific Society (SSS) of Lankaran State University was re-formed in the academic year 2018-2019. In accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science, the regulations of the Student Scientific Society were drawn up. Based on the regulations, the action plan of SSS was prepared. According to the model regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science regarding the Student Scientific Society and the relevant regulations of the Student Scientific Research Work, the activities of LSU SSS were mainly planned and implemented in two directions:

1- Action plan of Student Scientific Research Study Group (SSRSG);

2- General action plan of LSU Student Scientific Society for students oriented towards scientific development;

During the academic year 2018-2019 of Lankaran State University, 11 SSRSGs were operating in the existing 4 faculties. In addition to general events in the direction of science, educational seminars on conducting scientific research were regularly held at SSRSG during the academic year. Seminars were organized for students on certain topics planned by academic teachers every month. The main purpose of these training-seminars is to form the skills of preparation and presentation of scientific theses in students. On April 18, 2019, the 1st scientific conference of Student Scientific Society (SSS) dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held and thesis materials were published. At the same time, all the participants of the conference were rewarded with diplomas and distinguished speakers were rewarded with honorary certificates by the incubment rector prof. Natig İbrahimov

For the academic year 2020-2021, the activity of the SSS was continued in full compliance with the conditions of the pandemic period, seminars for departments and faculties were carried out on the Microsoft Teams platform.

In the academic year 2020-2021, the structure of the Student Scientific Society has also been updated in connection with the creation of new faculties at Lankaran State University, which is further developing its educational infrastructure. In the academic year 2020-2021, 13 Student Scientific Research Study Groups (SSRSG) were established under the Student Scientific Society of Lankaran State University in 5 faculties of the university.

In the academic year 2021-2022, the activity of SSS concluded on May 26, 2022 at Lankaran State University with the II scientific conference of the Student Scientific Society on the theme "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" dedicated to the "Year of Shusha".

At the scientific conference, the students of the Student Scientific Society of Lankaran State University in the academic year 2021-2022 presented the theses prepared as a result of their scientific research on their scientific topics. As the conclusion of the annual activity of TEC, thesis materials were printed, as well as, all the participants of the conference were rewarded with diplomas and distinguished speakers were rewarded with honorary certificates by the rector prof. Natig İbrahimov

For the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 the seminars of the Student Scientific Society were held in accordance with the implementation plan determined together with the Scientific deparment of Lankaran State University, as well as the Department of Science and Research. Faculty deans, teaching staff, the chairmen of the Student Scientific Society on faculties, the head of SSS, as well as the members of SSS on the faculties participated in the held seminars.

At the end of the academic year, during the final meetings of the faculties, the members of the Student Scientific Society presented their theses on the scientific work they researched during the academic year under the guidance of their academic supervisors. Discussions were held on the questions that arose during theses speeches, and relevant instructions and recommendations were given to the speaking students. Taking into account the characteristics of the work presented, the form of presentation, as well as the conducted research and the obtained results, the performance of a group of students was distinguished.

In the academic year 2023-2024, 14 Student Scientific Research Study Groups (SSRSG) were established under the Student Scientific Society of Lankaran State University in 6 faculties of the university. Those research associations are:

Faculty of Natural Sciences:

Faculty of history, geography and art:

2. "GEOGRAPHY AND ITS TEACHING METHODOLOGY" SSRSG

Faculty of Philology and Primary Education:

1. "THE AZERBAIJAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE" SSRSG

2. "FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND TRANSLATION" SSRSG

3. "PRIMARY EDUCATION AND PRE-SCHOOL TRAINING" SSRSG

4. "PEDAGOGY, PSYCHOLOGY AND ART SUBJECTS" SSRSG

Faculty of Economics and Management:

Faculty of Agriculture and Engineering:

At the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the process of admitting new members to the SSS was carried out.

For this purpose, information about the activities and objectives of the Student Scientific Society was provided to specialty groups within faculties, and applications from students wishing to become members were recorded.

Each faculty chair of the Student Scientific Society, together with the faculty dean’s office, participated in the selection process of students from each group within the faculty who had high academic achievements and an interest in scientific research.

During the academic year, a series of seminars were organized across departments and faculties. These seminars primarily focused on three key areas:

1.Guidelines for the preparation of scientific research work and the proper selection of literature sources

2. Approaches to conducting scientific research within the relevant field and the process of analyzing research outcomes.

3. Interpretation of research findings, as well as the preparation and presentation of theses and scholarly articles.

At the end of the 2024–2025 academic year, sectional meetings were held across the faculties. The research conducted by students throughout the year was first presented at the department level and subsequently introduced at the relevant faculty meetings. During these sessions, members of the Student Scientific Society (TETD) presented their research topics, making use of the knowledge and skills they had acquired during the previous scientific seminars. After necessary revisions, the reports were submitted to us in their preliminary electronic format.
